Job summary

VERTECH GROUP (UK) LTD in London is seeking a Software Safety Engineer to join a fast-growing technology business operating in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. The role focuses on assessing software development processes and technical evidence, with emphasis on software safety, lifecycle assurance, verification & validation, configuration management and risk.

IEC 62304 knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in medical devices or safety-critical industry.
• At least 2 years developing safety-critical software.
• Experience with lifecycle processes, V&V, configuration management and cybersecurity.
• Strong communication and ability to assess technical evidence.

Software Safety Engineer

Location: London

Salary: £75K – £85K + Benefits

Software Safety Engineer required by a fast-growing technology business operating within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

This is a varied and challenging role assessing software development processes and technical evidence, with a strong focus on software safety, software lifecycle assurance, verification & validation, configuration management and risk

The successful Software Safety Engineer will have:

• 4+ years’ experience within medical devices or another safety-critical industry, including at least 2 years developing safety-critical software
• Practical experience with software lifecycle processes, verification & validation, configuration management and cybersecurity
• Strong communication skills and an interest in assessing technical evidence

Experience with medical device software standards such as IEC 62304 would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Candidates with relevant safety-critical software experience from aerospace, automotive, defence and other regulated engineering sectors are also encouraged to apply.

This would suit a Software Safety Engineer, Software Assurance Engineer or Functional Safety Engineer with a strong software background looking to work on complex systems within a highly regulated environment.
