Job summary

Vertech Group (UK) Ltd in London is seeking a Safety Software Engineer to join a team evaluating software development processes and technical evidence underpinning AI-enabled medical devices. You will review software lifecycle, V&V, configuration management and risk to determine compliance for certification.

Relocation costs are covered. The role involves using AI-assisted tools to explore evidence, identify potential failure modes and ensure safety-critical products meet standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in medical devices or safety-critical industries.
• At least 2 years developing safety-critical software.
• Experience with lifecycle processes, verification and validation, configuration management, and cybersecurity.
• Excellent communication and ability to assess technical evidence.

Safety Software Engineer

Location: London (relocation costs covered)

Salary: £75K - £85K + Benefits

Safety Software Engineer required by an innovative technology business working at the forefront of AI-enabled medical devices and software! You'll join a specialist team assessing the software development processes and technical evidence behind cutting-edge medical technologies, reviewing software lifecycle, V&V, configuration management and risk to help determine whether safety-critical products meet the standards required for certification. You'll also use AI-assisted tools to explore technical evidence, identify potential failure modes and highlight inconsistencies

Essential:

• 4+ years' experience in medical devices or another safety-critical industry, including at least 2 years developing safety-critical software
• Practical experience with software lifecycle processes, verification & validation, configuration management and cybersecurity
• Strong communication skills and an interest in assessing technical evidence

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of medical device software standards such as IEC 62304, although candidates from aerospace, automotive, defence and other safety-critical sectors are also encouraged to apply
