Job summary

KDR Talent Solutions is recruiting a QA Engineer for a hybrid role in Warrington. You will test across web interfaces, APIs and databases, shaping quality from early design through to release.

You’ll contribute to test plans and automation as the QA function grows, working closely with developers and stakeholders to embed quality and leverage AI tools to speed testing.

QA Engineer | SaaS | Warrington | Hybrid

The Company

KDR are working with a growing SaaS business building technology used by large organisations around the world.

They’re continuing to invest in their product and engineering teams, with a particular focus on automation, AI and improving the way software is built and tested.

The Role

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll work alongside Software Engineers and other testers to make sure new features are reliable, usable and ready for customers.

You’ll carry out hands-on testing across web interfaces, APIs and databases, create test plans and get involved in automation as the team's testing capability continues to develop.

You won't just be handed finished software and asked to find bugs. You’ll be involved earlier in the process, working with the wider engineering team to understand new features, raise potential issues and help build quality in from the start.

There’s also a strong focus on using AI practically within engineering. You’ll be encouraged to use modern AI tools to help you learn, create tests faster and improve the overall QA process.

What they're looking for

You’ll ideally have commercial software testing experience within web-based applications and be comfortable working closely with developers.

You’ll also have experience with:

• API testing using Postman or similar
• SQL and working with databases
• Test planning and hands-on software testing
• Some exposure to test automation
• Working across the software development lifecycle
• Communicating with both technical teams and wider stakeholders

You don't need to be a fully-fledged automation engineer, but you should be interested in developing in that direction and comfortable working across both the technical and functional sides of testing.

Any experience with CI/CD pipelines would be useful, alongside an interest in using AI tools to improve testing and automation.

Just as importantly, they’re looking for someone proactive, curious and happy to take ownership rather than waiting to be told exactly what to test.
