Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Software QA professional to join our IT team and play a key role in ensuring changes to our ERP and business-critical applications are delivered safely, reliably and to a high standard.

Working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders across the business, you’ll bring structure and consistency to our testing approach - from defining test plans and acceptance criteria through to regression testing, defect management and user acceptance testing. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and improve our QA practices while supporting system upgrades, resilience initiatives and enhancements across a varied application landscape.

This role is offered on a fixed-term contract (FTC) until 30th June 2027, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact during an exciting period of change and transformation at DD Group.

Main duties
  • Define appropriate test approaches and acceptance criteria for application and system changes.
  • Create and maintain clear test plans, test cases, scripts and supporting evidence.
  • Carry out functional, regression, integration and smoke testing across business-critical applications.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with stakeholders across the business.
  • Identify, record and prioritise defects, working with delivery teams through to successful resolution and retesting.
  • Build and maintain reusable regression testing coverage for critical business processes.
  • Validate ERP version upgrades, resilience changes and targeted system enhancements.
  • Test system interfaces, data flows, extracts and reconciliations where required.
  • Provide QA insight and recommendations to support release-readiness and go/no-go decisions.
  • Help continuously improve QA standards, traceability and testing discipline across IT programmes and projects.
About you
  • Experience in software QA and testing, ideally within business-critical applications, ERP or integrated systems.
  • Strong knowledge of test design and execution, including functional, regression and integration testing.
  • Experience managing defects through a structured identification, prioritisation, retesting and closure process.
  • A good understanding of risk-based testing and how to focus testing effort where it matters most.
  • Experience working within structured software change and release processes.
  • Confident creating clear and comprehensive test documentation and evidence.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Comfortable working with both technical teams and business stakeholders to coordinate testing and UAT.
  • Able to communicate issues, risks and testing outcomes clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience with test automation would be advantageous.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent testing experience would be desirable.
