Job Description

Work Tasks for Software Product Test Engineer include:

  • Requirements analysis.
  • Test plan, test case and test report generation.
  • Equipment and network configuration and system building for test environment.
  • Test execution and analysis.
  • Analyzing and debugging software integration issues on target hardware and software environments.
  • Working in a cross-functional team as part of system development.
  • Configuration management.
  • Analyzing and defining task requirements.
  • Problem investigation and resolution.
  • Input to internal and external meetings.
  • Providing support to Programme Manager, Task Lead Engineer, Software Development & Testing, System Integration, and Specialist Engineering Areas (including Safety, Security, ILS).

Qualifications

  • Appropriate educational qualification (degree level preferred but HND Certification considered), knowledge and vocational background in Engineering (system, hardware, software, electronic communications, and computer systems) or related discipline.
  • Experience with HPQC/ALM desirable.
  • Experience of the Software Engineering Life Cycle.
  • Working knowledge of networking infrastructure.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, with strong configuration management control.
  • Ability to present at progress reviews and contribute productively.
  • Capable of analyzing and debugging software integration issues on target hardware and software environments.
  • Knowledge of the BCIP system is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Tactical C4I Systems.
  • IT literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Motivation, integrity, professionalism, flexibility, commitment, and innovation.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

Additional Information

General Dynamics Mission Systems utilises QDOS IR35 Status Review. The requirements of this contract have been evaluated as Outside IR35. Prior to the engagement start, you will need to complete a status questionnaire to receive the finalised status determination.

All successful applicants must be able to obtain UK Security clearance appropriate for the role and undertake suitable Right to Work checks.
