Opportunity Overview

Fantastic opportunity to join a global IT Services organisation undergoing an exciting transformation, with a focus on building the Procurement Team.

The Software Procurement Category Manager is responsible for contributing to the overall Procurement strategy for the Global Software category/supply chain, providing proactive procurement and sourcing engagement to reduce costs, mitigate risks, and deliver value and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide proactive procurement engagement on the global software category scope, collaborating with the Software Strategic Category Lead to reduce costs, mitigate risks, and develop a world-class strategic sourcing strategy and plan.
2. Contribute to developing and maintaining the 2025 Global Software Procurement category strategy and plans.
3. Serve as a subject matter expert on the software category, including suppliers, licensing models, commercial models, and key terms.
4. Help evolve and improve current software procurement processes, engagement models, and identify new commercial models and supply chain routes to market.
5. Contribute to the central group software category plans, objectives, and commercial value.
6. Own targeted procurement and sourcing engagements with assigned software suppliers.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Minimum 5 years of IT/software procurement experience in a global environment.
2. Experience negotiating global software contracts, frameworks, and terms.
3. Proficiency in contract drafting.
4. Experience in Software Category Management and developing category strategies.
5. Ability to work well in a team and independently.
