Rolls-Royce is seeking a Software/Hardware Integration Engineer in the UK to validate sub-systems, verify artefacts, and ensure timely delivery of integrated solutions. You will collaborate with software, hardware and safety teams, developing test plans and automated scripts for FPGA designs.

The role emphasizes fault finding, timing analysis and adherence to safety-critical development constraints while supporting audits and design reviews. Security clearance may be required.

Formación

• Degree in Software or Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with FPGA development and verification.
• Ability to fault find and diagnose complex electronics.
• Knowledge of safety-critical development constraints (IEC62566).
• Experience in timing analysis and real-time systems.

Responsabilidades

• Support audits, design reviews and verification activities.
• Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, FPGA and safety teams on integrated solutions.

As a Software/Hardware Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for validating complex sub-systems and ensuring the timely delivery and quality of the artefacts associated with system integration, verification and validation. You will work closely with a range of engineering teams to support the successful delivery of robust and effective solutions.,

Responsibilities

• Develop test documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports and automated test scripts.
• Develop test equipment solutions and conduct Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) level testing across a range of functionality and environmental tests.
• Develop automated testing procedures for FPGA designs and support detailed integration testing against DOORS requirements.
• Conduct failure investigations and root cause analysis, applying structured problem-solving techniques.
• Ensure adherence to change control, configuration management and established development processes, demonstrating solution correctness and traceability to design requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cost and timescales while improving quality.
• Support process and technical audits, product design reviews and verification activities.
• Liaise closely with software, systems, hardware, programmable hardware (FPGA) and safety teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level, In Software or Electronics Engineering, or related discipline,
• Experience with field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA)
• Experienced in integrating complex electronic products, fault finding and diagnosis.
• Experienced in one of digital electronics design and verification, programmable logic device design and verification, software design and verification or real-time systems, and awareness of the others.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic to become familiar with new techniques and tools,
• Awareness of safety-critical development constraints (e.g. IEC62566).
• Experienced in timing analysis.
