Job summary

Experis UK in Glasgow is seeking a mid-level Software/Firmware Engineer to join the development team. You will develop and maintain C# / .NET software for Windows-embedded systems, and work with data flowing from FPGA-based hardware sampling in the gigahertz range.

You will read from and write to SQL Server / MySQL databases, interpret embedded C code, and test end-to-end code on hardware. Collaboration with cloud/web components is also expected.

Qualifications

• Strong, demonstrable experience with C# and .NET.
• Confidence reading and working with SQL (SQL Server or MySQL).
• Exposure to C, particularly around embedded/microcontroller-level code.
• Some Python experience.
• Front-end exposure, ideally React.
• An interest in industrial, hardware-adjacent software.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining C# / .NET software for Windows-embedded systems.
• Working with data flowing from FPGA-based hardware sampling in the gigahertz range.
• Reading from and writing to SQL Server / MySQL databases.
• Interpreting and occasionally working with lower-level C code from embedded microcontrollers.
• Testing and verifying your own code end to end, from spec through to deployment on hardware.
• Collaborating with the wider team on cloud and web-facing components where projects overlap.
