Client Server seeks an Software Engineering Manager / Team Lead to guide multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex software for the insurance domain. You will balance hands-on engineering with people leadership and operational excellence.

The role focuses on modern engineering practices, cloud/SaaS adoption, automation and DevSecOps, while enabling scalable, secure software and strong developer experience. Hybrid WFH model in Reigate.

Software Engineering Manager / Team Lead (C# .Net Azure) Reigate / WFH to £95k

As a Software Engineering Manager / Team Lead you'll lead highly skilled, multi-disciplinary teams delivering market leading insurance and reserving solutions used by customers globally.

This is a broad engineering leadership role combining technical credibility, people management and operational leadership. You'll create the environment for teams to deliver secure, reliable and scalable software, while continuously improving engineering effectiveness, developer experience and ways of working.

Leading the development, release and continuous improvement of products, you'll collaborate closely with Architects, Senior Engineers, Product, Platform, Security and Operations to shape robust technical solutions and support the evolution to cloud and SaaS. You'll use engineering, quality, reliability and customer metrics to improve delivery flow, identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.

A key part of the role is building high performing, inclusive teams: recruiting and developing engineers, coaching technical leaders, supporting career progression and evolving team structures and operating models.

You'll also champion modern engineering practices including automation, DevSecOps, secure development and responsible AI assisted software delivery, balancing productivity with quality, security, compliance and maintainability. Improving developer experience through better tooling, documentation, reusable patterns and self-service practices will also be central to the role.

WFH Policy:

There's a flexible work from home hybrid model, you'll join colleagues in the Reigate office twice a week for team meet-ups and stakeholder meetings with the other three days' work from home.

About you:

• You have experience of leading multi-disciplinary Agile, product engineering teams delivering complex, maintainable and commercially valuable software solutions
• You have a hands-on engineering background, ideally with C# .Net with experience across the full software development lifecycle
• You have a good understanding of modern software engineering principles, including maintainable architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, secure-by-design practices, observability and reliability
• You have experience of growing teams and leading transformation initiatives across engineering effectiveness, Agile or flow-based delivery, people development, cloud/SaaS adoption, DevSecOps and technology modernisation
• You have strong leadership skills, you're enthusiastic, motivational, proactive, decisive, collaborative, inclusive and committed to continuous improvement
• You can use engineering metrics thoughtfully to improve delivery flow, quality, reliability, developer experience and team health without creating unnecessary measurement overhead
