Job summary

Motorola Solutions UK Limited is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager in Edinburgh. You will lead high performing software teams, coach engineers across graduate to senior levels, and drive best practices in a fast-paced environment.

Hybrid working model with two days in the Edinburgh office, collaboration with product teams, and a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in leading people and software engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience driving adoption of AI tools to optimize engineering processes.
  • Track record of teams delivering on time.
  • Inspires and motivates teams.
  • Drive for continual learning.
  • Exposure to Scrum or other Agile frameworks.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and modern software development lifecycles.
  • Passionate about CI/CD and release trains.

Our world class Video Management Software allows Enterprise customers to monitor all aspects of security at their sites. From integrating video analytics in Windows applications to making highly scalable cloud microservices - our engineers have opportunities to work with a very diverse and exciting range of products.

We have a fantastic city center office in the heart of Edinburgh and fully embrace a hybrid home/office working model, with an aim for 2 days in the office.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with talented engineers to build high performing teams. A successful candidate will have strong coaching and motivational skills to enable highly technical teams to achieve results in a fast paced environment. Basic Requirements
What we are looking for in you:
  • 3 or more years of experience in leading people and software engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving the adoption of AI tools (CoPilot, Claude) to optimize engineering processes and team performance.
  • Track record of your teams delivering on time.
  • A natural ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Drive for continual learning.
  • Exposure to Scrum or other Agile frameworks.
  • Knowledge of modern software development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Passionate about CI/CD and release trains, delivering a regular cadence of features and quality improvements.
  • Mastery in any programming language (C++, C#, TypeScript, …).
  • Lead by example, exceed expectations and go above and beyond.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
