Job Description

We are seeking ahighly skilled Senior Developer to join our Legal & Compliancetechnology team as a lead engineer in our London office. In this role,you will manage a global team and be responsible for overseeing thedevelopment and enhancement of our suite of real-time applicationsembedded within our trading workflows focused on legal and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage ateam of developers and business analysts, providing guidance andsupport to ensure successful project delivery
  • Design,implement, and monitor mission-critical real-time applicationsintegrated into trading workflows, specifically focused on legal andcompliance
  • Oversee several applications that evaluatetrading constraints related to Material Non-Public Information (MNPI)and counterparties, spanning: exchange limits for commodity productsto counterparty agreements management and monitoring of brokerrestrictions for portfolios
  • Lead engagement with thebusiness collaborating with traders, portfolio managers, complianceteams, and counterparty management to manage MNPI effectively
  • Proactive and hands-on development of Java applications on AWS,Spring Boot, and CI/CD with a focus on latency and performance
  • Lead modernization efforts for legacy systems. Participate intech-wide initiatives to review resiliency and sustainability,ensuring that design and architecture can respond and recover quickly.
  • Conduct regular code reviews, write unit tests, and maintaincomprehensive technical documentation for systems, processes, andarchitecture.
Requirements
  • 10+ yearsof software development experience working in asset management / hedgefunds, investment banking or financial services institutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or equivalent; ahigher degree in a related field is desirable
  • Proven trackrecord of designing and implementing micro-service architectureapplications and cloud-native solutions, with strong experience inJava server-side technologies, including Spring Boot
  • Proficient in writing maintainable code in multiple languages suchas HTML, Java, and JavaScript/TypeScript, with a solid understandingof data structures, design patterns, and algorithms
  • Experience with public cloud technologies, as well as a passionfor automation and familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab
  • Strong practitioner of DevOps practices, utilizing relevanttooling to enhance development and deployment processes, and ensuringapplication security through secure coding techniques andvulnerability assessments
  • Technical skillset includes datamodels, messaging, REST, API design and development, and standardmethodologies for system integration
  • Knowledge of OracleDatabase and SQL, with experience in performance monitoring andoptimization to ensure applications meet performance benchmarks
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the bestuser experience possible, while actively participating in continuousimprovement of processes and practices
  • Excellentinterpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in agiledevelopment environments and collaborate closely with productmanagers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders
  • Ability tomentor and share knowledge with team members, fostering acollaborative and innovative work environment, while adapting tochanging requirements and demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience of working with trading and / or complianceapplications is a plus
