About the Role

The GM Risk and Capital Optimization Technology team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join the TAROT platform team based in London. This is a key technical role responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the DevOps capabilities that underpin a suite of strategic risk and capital optimization solutions. The successful candidate will drive automation, improve software delivery processes, enhance operational resilience, and ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of the platform. Working closely with software engineers, architects, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders, the Senior DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in modernizing development and deployment practices, streamlining release management, and supporting mission-critical applications within a highly regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities
DevOps Engineering & Automation
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade DevOps frameworks and best practices.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, deployment, and release processes.
  • Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation-first approaches across application and platform environments.
  • Automate operational processes, environment provisioning, and deployment activities to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Continuously improve software delivery lifecycle processes, deployment frequency, and release quality.
Source Code & Release Management
  • Manage and administer source code repositories, branching strategies, and release processes.
  • Support application versioning, release governance, and deployment planning across multiple environments.
  • Implement best practices for code promotion, artifact management, and release automation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure consistent development standards and deployment practices.
Environment & Platform Management
  • Support multiple application environments including development, testing, UAT, and production.
  • Manage application hosting platforms and ensure platform stability, availability, and performance.
  • Monitor platform health and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Support disaster recovery, resilience, and business continuity requirements.
Infrastructure & Operations
  • Work closely with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and compliant.
  • Manage Windows Server environments supporting business-critical applications.
  • Administer and support IIS-hosted applications and web services.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application performance issues across environments.
  • Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational readiness initiatives.
Security & Compliance
  • Embed security controls and DevSecOps principles into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise technology standards, risk controls, and operational procedures.
  • Support platform vulnerability remediation, patch management, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enhance security automation and monitoring capabilities.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with software engineering teams to improve development workflows and deployment automation.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on DevOps best practices and operational excellence.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to platform modernization initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for DevOps tooling, automation, and operational support.
Required Qualifications
Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience
  • Significant experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering role.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting complex, business-critical applications in production environments.
  • Strong experience working within financial services, banking, capital markets, or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge of source control systems and repository management.
  • Strong Windows Server administration experience.
  • Strong Microsoft technology stack expertise.
  • Hands-on experience administering and supporting IIS (Internet Information Services).
  • Experience with release management, deployment automation, and software delivery lifecycle management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational support capabilities.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and performance management tools.
  • Desirable Python scripting and automation development.
  • PowerShell scripting and Windows automation.
  • Infrastructure as Code technologies.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Cloud platform experience (Azure preferred).
  • Experience supporting application monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices.
  • Familiarity with SonarQube, security scanning, and code quality tooling.
  • Experience supporting .NET and Microsoft-based application stacks.
