Job summary

Nordson Colchester is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for X-ray metrology systems, focusing on image analysis and motion control. You will collaborate on-site with engineering and hardware teams to solve complex hardware-software interactions, delivering robust, documented software features.

The role requires strong C++ in multi-threaded environments, computer vision foundations, and experience turning raw image data into accurate 3D models.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, CV, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in computer vision, image or signal processing.
• Experience reconstructing raw image data into 3D models.
• Proactive, data-driven problem-solving approach.
• C++ in multi-threaded, performance-critical apps.
• Familiarity with GPU programming and parallel computing.
• BDD and/or TDD experience.
• Experience with code management and issue tracking tools.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for Nordson Automated X-ray Metrology systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Document software designs and instructions for use.
• Support and debug field issues.
• Participate in code reviews and audits.
• Transfer code into volume manufacture.
• Mentor less experienced software engineers.
• Stay up to date with latest software techniques and trends.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties.
