Job Description Summary
Software Engineer will lead technical development and delivery at team and sometimes lab level. They can be a Line Manager, acting as co-lead with the Team PO for overall delivery. In these cases, they are responsible for overall tech delivery, line management, and app ownership alongside their own engineering output. Others will operate as individual contributors, specialists in specific technology areas, with a narrower and deeper focus.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Workday solutions, including configurations, integrations, and customizations to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and recommend innovative solutions leveraging Workday capabilities.
  • Lead technical discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions within the Workday platform.
  • Architect and implement technical Workday solutions adhering to Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) best practices, security standards, and performance optimizations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous enhancement of development processes and methodologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure system stability and reliability.
  • Stay updated on Workday platform updates, new features, and industry trends, and assess their impact on existing implementations.
  • Invest in personal development and develop the capabilities of direct reports, providing specialized training or coaching as needed.
  • Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, delivering small change management initiatives under guidance.
  • Set short-term objectives and manage the performance of direct reports within performance management systems.
  • Explore issues to establish potential causes, related issues, and barriers.
  • Deliver outcomes for designated areas using risk management systems to mitigate undue risks.
  • Analyze problems to find the best technical or professional solutions.
  • Develop product specifications, testing procedures, and standards.
  • Deliver outcomes within established strategic planning frameworks.
