Job summary

Unisys is seeking software engineers in Manchester on a hybrid basis with 2 days in the office. Contract length is 6-12 months with a strong possibility of extensions. Day rate ranges from £385 to £400, Inside IR35.

The role involves supporting a major financial services client, delivering enhancements, and maintaining high-quality code in a regulated enterprise environment. Applicants should have proven Unisys experience and a solid software engineering background, with excellent communication

Qualifications

• Proven commercial experience working with Unisys systems.
• Strong background in software development and testing.
• Experience in large-scale, complex environments, preferably financial services.
• Familiarity with regulated enterprise environments and governance.

Job Description

Spencer Rose are urgently looking for a number of experienced Software Engineer with strong Unisys experience to join a technology team supporting a major Tier 1 banking client in Manchester.

Location: Manchester (Hybrid) - 2 days a week in the office

Contract: 6-12 months (strong possibility for extensions)

Day Rate: £385-400pd Inside IR35

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and enhance applications within a Unisys environment.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture and business teams to deliver technology solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across existing systems.
• Support application modernisation and integration initiatives where required.
• Produce high-quality, well-tested and maintainable code.

Key skills & experience:

• Proven commercial Unisys experience.
• Strong software engineering/development background.
• Experience working within large-scale, complex environments, ideally financial services.
• Good understanding of SDLC, testing and production support.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a regulated enterprise environment.
