Job summary

Zurich Nova, Bristol/Bath-based, seeks a software engineering lead to guide a small team in delivering modern software and AI-enabled solutions. You will collaborate with product, business and technical stakeholders to translate ideas into working products and explore how emerging technologies can improve processes.

The role supports a culture of innovation within a stable insurer, offering flexible hours, three office days per week, and opportunities to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Around 3–5 years experience in software engineering or software development.
• Experience in start-up, scale-up or innovation-focused teams.
• Experience leading projects, mentoring colleagues or managing small teams.
• Strong coding skills and experience delivering production software.
• Strong interest in AI, machine learning and emerging technologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
• Collaborative approach and a desire to help others grow.
• Passion for building products that deliver real value to users.
• Experience with generative AI or large language models.
• Experience with automation, workflow tools or low-code/no-code solutions.
• Experience in agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities
