The Role

We are seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead to play a pivotal role in designing and building a modern, scalable lending platform. This role involves leading a team of engineers to develop high-quality, maintainable software that enables lending services across multiple European markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Architect, design, and develop scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Ensure security, performance, and scalability best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote high coding standards.
  • Champion tooling (including AI-powered tools) to enhance productivity.
  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • 2+ years of experience in team leadership and line management.
  • Strong software architecture, database, and system performance optimisation expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Django (or similar backend frameworks).
  • Familiarity with React or similar frontend frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud) and infrastructure management.
  • Knowledge of modern deployment practices (Serverless, Docker, Event-Driven Systems, CI/CD).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with remote or hybrid teams.
  • Working in regulated lending environments.
  • Leading multinational software deployments.
