Software Engineer

Location: Derby, Raynesway

Employment Type: Full Time, 5 days in the Office

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer to join Rolls-Royce Submarine. This role involves working across all phases of the product lifecycle, addressing technical challenges in digital, software, programmable hardware, electronics technologies, systems, and applications. You will have the opportunity to develop your career as an engineer, technical specialist, or technical leader.

Responsibilities
  • Follow a safety-critical development lifecycle
  • Develop software requirements and designs
  • Develop and verify high-integrity code
  • Support testing of designs
  • Author and review design documentation
  • Collaborate with FPGA, Hardware, Systems, and Verification teams
  • Contribute to process and quality improvements
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in designing and verifying high-integrity software
  • Ability to produce clear technical reports

Preferred skills include experience with Ada, C++, C, IBM Engineering Requirements DOORS, Ansys SCADE, Azure DevOps, Git, real-time OS, PLC development, Agile Scrum, and safety-critical development standards such as DO-178B/C, IEC60880, IEC61508.
