Software Engineer

Location: Derby, Raynesway

Employment Type: Full Time, 5 days in the Office

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer to join Rolls-Royce Submarine. This role involves working across all phases of the product lifecycle, addressing technical challenges in digital, software, programmable hardware, electronics technologies, systems, and applications. Responsibilities

• Follow a safety-critical development lifecycle
• Develop software requirements and designs
• Develop and verify high-integrity code
• Support testing of designs
• Author and review design documentation
• Collaborate with FPGA, Hardware, Systems, and Verification teams
• Contribute to process and quality improvements

Candidate Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience in designing and verifying high-integrity software
• Ability to produce clear technical reports

Preferred skills include experience with Ada, C++, C, IBM Engineering Requirements DOORS, Ansys SCADE, Azure DevOps, Git, real-time OS, PLC development, Agile Scrum, and safety-critical development standards such as DO-178B/C, IEC60880, IEC61508.
