Job Description:

Based full-time in newly furbished offices, this growing industry leader develops a range of software products used by leading companies in the energy, mining, and O&G industries. They are looking to expand their current team and seek a Software Engineer with specific experience and interests in structural geology applications.

As a software engineer within their team, your activities will include software coding, interface design, testing, and algorithm development, primarily applied to structural geology or geoengineering projects.

Requirements:

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Geophysics, Maths, or Geology, with industry or extended academic (preferably doctoral) projects involving structural geology or geoengineering.
• Excellent C or C++ programming skills, including OO design and use of standard libraries (including Boost).
• Project experience in one or more of the following areas: seismic processing and fault seal analysis; geomechanical and geological modeling including deformation modeling; 2D and 3D kinematic modeling techniques; fracture modeling.
• Additional experience with: GUI development (Qt, QML); 3D graphics toolkits (OpenGL, Vulkan, shaders); CI tools (CMake, JIRA, Git, Jenkins); GIS development tools (GDAL API, MapBox API); multithreading/parallel computing (GPU programming or CUDA); MATLAB/Python scripting for mathematical/geology problems is advantageous.

Note: Applicants without the relevant project experience will not be considered. Exposure to relevant projects alone is insufficient.

This role is fully onsite; candidates must be able to commute daily to the office. Relocation assistance is available for qualifying candidates.
