Job summary

Palantir is seeking a senior software engineer to help build the data processing backbone of Foundry, applying open-source data technologies to real-world problems for hospitals, supply chains, and more. You will own design-to-production improvements, extending engines and planning capabilities across large tables and diverse workloads.

You will work with Java, Rust, Scala, or C++ and engage with Spark, DataFusion, Iceberg, Arrow, and Parquet in a high-performance environment that values

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
• Strong coding skills in Java, Rust, Scala or C++.
• Experience with database engines, distributed data processing, or related infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing query planning and optimization capabilities.
• Extending execution engines and improving operators, memory management, and data movement.
• Developing catalog and engine integrations with Iceberg and related components.
• Building reusable transformation semantics and execution interfaces.
• Improving incremental processing and correct data handling across pipelines.
• Evaluating open-source data systems and validating performance with real workloads.
• Collaborating with product teams to translate needs into engine capabilities.
