Client Server is seeking a Software Engineer / Developer (Python) in Cirencester with hybrid working options up to £85k. You will build Greenfield, data-driven applications that process satellite imagery and related data for government, energy, and conservation clients.

The role emphasizes Python backend services, ownership of features from ideation to production, and collaboration in a small, funded startup environment with real-world climate impact.

Qualifications

Software Engineer / Developer (Python) Cirencester / WFH to £85k

Do you have a good understanding of geospatial or image processing technology combined with Python backend engineering skills?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on Software Engineer role at a well funded start-up developing an AI powered intelligence platform that transforms satellite imagery and scientific data into actionable insights about the Arctic. Combining cutting edge machine learning with physics based modelling, the team is tackling problems with real-world impact on climate, national infrastructure and global decision-making.

As a Software Engineer you will design and develop Greenfield, data centric applications that monitor artic ice flows and various other data points for clients within governments, defence, energy exploration and conservation. You'll focus on Python backend services, taking ownership of projects and working end-to-end from ideation through to production of new features and applications.

Location

You'll be based in a beautiful Cotswolds (near Cirencester) office, with stunning views and a range of facilities including free parking onsite (not commutable on public transport) two days a week with flexibility to work from home the other three days.

About you

• You have strong Python backend development skills; Ruby would also be useful but not essential
• You have a good knowledge of geospatial or image processing technology
• You're comfortable using AI tools such as Claude in your everyday workflow
• You have experience in a start-up or small business, keen to work on Greenfield projects with ownership
• You're collaborative with great communication skills, happy to partake in technical discussions and decision making
• You're degree educated in a STEM discipline
