This role focuses on building and optimising systems for audio, video, and sensor data collection, ensuring efficient, reliable, and accurate capture from cutting-edge prototype devices.

What You’ll Do

• Develop Python-based software for integrating and managing prototype wearable devices.
• optimise the distributed data collection platform to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Work with audio, video, and inertial measurement recording equipment.
• Deploy, test, and monitor system upgrades.
• Debug and perform root cause analysis on hardware/software issues onsite.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to scope tasks, design solutions, and implement best practices.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

• 8+ years in software engineering.
• Linux and shell scripting proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with hardware multimedia sensors.
• Knowledge of audio, video, and image formats.
• Database experience (SQL, NoSQL, or graph).
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, JS).
