About the role
Salary: Up to £65,000 dependent on experience
HL are looking for a talented full stack Software Engineer to join our Pensions, ISAs & Investments product development team in building market leading solutions for our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital client journeys.
- Develop AWS Cloud-native applications with TypeScript and React, managing them using Infrastructure as Code.
- Write high quality, secure, tested, and performant code.
- Create and maintain automated tests for new changes.
- Document all solutions according to team standards.
- Provide engineering support and maintenance for existing applications.
- Continuously develop your own technical and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and techniques.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to peers.
- Advocate for continuous improvement in ways of working, quality, security, performance, and CI/CD processes.
- Cultivate strong working relationships within the squad and across the organization.
- Engage in working groups and communities of practice to support the development team.

Skills
- Extensive professional experience with TypeScript, React, and Node, deployed on AWS using IaC tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Professional experience with other languages such as Java/Spring Boot, PHP, or .Net is beneficial.
- Familiarity with product development for cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and related technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, serverless).
- Experience with testing tools and practices (Jest, Cypress, Backstop, Playwright).
- Experience with CI/CD and Trunk Based Development.
- Experience with observability tools, monitoring, logging, and tracing.
- Understanding of Microservices & RESTful API development.
- Understanding of Event Driven Architecture.
- Knowledge of various database technologies.
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
- Awareness of website performance best practices.
- Proficiency in collaborative code reviews, technical documentation, and development practices within Agile frameworks.
