Job description

We don't just build software; we build the engine that holiday parks and resorts across Europe rely on every single day. Our platform is growing in terms of users, data, and functionality.

As a Software Engineer, you are responsible for making sure our systems remain scalable, performant, and reliable. You aren’t just a coder here; you are a builder who takes ownership of key parts of the application and helps us make the right technical choices for the long term.

About ParcVu, powered by Booking Experts (BEX)

At BEX, we're transforming the way hospitality businesses operate. Our software platform helps holiday parks, campsites, hotels and accommodation providers manage reservations, automate processes and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

We work with hospitality businesses across Europe. Our mission is simple: to help hospitality entrepreneurs spend less time on administration and more time focusing on their guests.

As part of our team, you'll join a fast-growing SaaS company where innovation, ownership and customer success are at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

You will join a product-oriented engineering team where we value results over process. Working full-stack with Ruby on Rails, you’ll build new features that have a direct impact on thousands of users.

You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and fellow engineers to translate complex requirements into clean, modular solutions. Whether it's optimizing data flows, maintaining external integrations, or rethinking parts of our architecture to handle future growth, you have the space to take initiative and see your ideas go into production.

You'll report to Thijs Schreijer (Head of Engineering), who values deep technical discussions and Engineers who think along about the strategic direction of the product.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design, build, and maintain new platform functionalities, features, and modules

  • Optimise existing code for performance, scalability, and maintainability

  • Develop and manage robust APIs, integrations, and links to external systems

  • Thoroughly test, debug, and document your technical solutions

  • Actively shape architectural decisions and contribute to technical discussions

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams in an agile environment

About You

You are an experienced Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and understands what it takes to keep a live system running smoothly.

  • A Degree (BSc or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 3+ years’ hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining live production SaaS systems

  • Strong proficiency with modern web frameworks, with a solid focus on Ruby on Rails (or a similar MVC framework)

  • A strong commitment to code quality, maintainability, and performance

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate and justify technical decisions within an international team

  • Based in the UK and within reasonable commuting distance of our Chester office for our hybrid working model

What We Offer
  • A competitive salary based on your experience.

  • Annual salary reviews.

  • Hybrid working opportunities

  • 25 days of annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays

  • A structured onboarding programme with a dedicated buddy.

  • Access to our LMS, internal training and ongoing development opportunities.

  • The opportunity to make a real impact in a growing international SaaS company.
