JPMorgan Chase & Co. in London invites a Senior Software Engineer to join the Public Cloud Engineering IAM team. You will design and deliver secure, scalable platform services across AWS, Azure, and GCP within an agile environment.

You will write production code, review designs, and contribute to automation, testing, and cloud-native practices, upholding engineering standards and collaborating across global teams.

Qualifications

• Loves coding and follows industry best practices
• Open to using AI tooling where helpful and applying judgement where not
• Willing to learn TDD/BDD and automation as part of engineering discipline
• Experience with Java, Spring, Go, Python and IAC like Terraform, Kubernetes is desirable

We are expanding our Public Cloud Engineering organization into EMEA region by establishing a new Identity and Access Management (IAM) team to better server our customers and strengthen collaboration across our global engineering teams.

As a Senior Software Engineer at JPMorganChase in Public Cloud Engineering, you will design and deliver secure, stable, scalable platform services and features as part of an agile team. You will write and validate code, contribute to system design, and deliver reliable, maintainable, well‑architected solutions across multiple technical areas in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Write, review, and maintain production code across stacks - whether that code originates from you, a teammate, or an AI tool. Apply engineering judgement to ensure it meets our standards regardless of its source.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• You love writing code and are keen to learn and follow industry best practices.
• You are willing to engage with AI tooling as part of your workflow. You do not need to be an expert - but you should be open to using these tools where they help and applying critical judgement where they do not.
• You are keen to learn and improve skills such as Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), automation - you see testing as an engineering discipline.
• You have experience in, or are prepared to learn Java, Spring, Go, Python and Infrastructure as code (IAC) e.g. Terraform, Kubernetes etc.
• Practical, hands‑on cloud native experience. You have built and operated services on at least one of the cloud providers at scale - AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• You are curious, innovative and enjoy a challenge and have high standards and have high expectations from the people you work with.
• You are aware of the big picture and how your work will impact our customers and can communicate effectively based on the audience.
