As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within our Core & Foundational Platforms group, particularly in the Gaia MySQL Database Product team, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of our private cloud offerings. Your responsibilities will include provisioning, automation, scaling, integrations, and self-service. We seek team members passionate about solving business problems through inventive engineering practices. Your knowledge and skills will be utilized throughout the software development lifecycle, with frequent stakeholder interactions to ensure alignment with shared objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Review and elaborate stakeholder requirements. Collaborate with Product Owners to shape product direction, balancing technical feasibility with end-user desires.
• Implement solutions focusing on both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design and develop solutions using reusable code, leveraging application architecture/framework capabilities, ensuring high reliability, scalability, and performance to meet business service levels.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality solutions are built and tested.
• Employ Agile practices such as Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, and Test Driven Development.
• Contribute to technical documentation including code and design.
• Provide production support and L3 coverage through thorough analysis and problem-solving.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in Python with applied experience.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience in Unix Shell scripting and SQL.
• Experience in REST API design and development.
• Knowledge of security protocols such as OIDC and OAuth.
• Experience with build automation, TDD, CI/CD practices.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience with TypeScript and React.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with Ansible.
• Experience with Relational Databases, especially MySQL.
