Job summary

Google's Fitbit Mobile Foundations team builds elegantly crafted iOS code that runs smoothly on iPhones. You will join this team and help work on projects as well as identify new ones.

The iOS team is part of a broader Platforms and Devices group, developing technologies to enhance user interactions and experiences across desktop, mobile, and devices. You will have opportunities to switch teams and contribute to cutting-edge mobile solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience in mobile application development.
• Experience in health and fitness mobile app development.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field (preferred).
• Experience developing iOS applications and programming in Swift.

Responsibilities

• Write mobile applications, create robust high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.
• Craft elegant and functional user interfaces using modern frameworks.
• Drive designs for major mobile components and features; design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance mobile software solutions.
• Ensure a high level of quality implementing unit and integration tests as well as other mobile software architecture best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and products.

You will join this team and help work on those projects as well as identify new ones.

Our iOS team is small enough that you get to influence the team's culture. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
