As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology Space, you will be an integral part of an agile team working to enhance, build, and deliver payments capabilities to global markets. You will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, and debug code written by others.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal experience with Software Engineering concepts and practical application.
• Extensive experience with core Java (version 17 or higher) and frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications with microservices, containers, and scalable platforms.
• Experience with Test Driven Development using JUnit, Mockito, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or related container platforms.
• Experience deploying software on cloud platforms like AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience with message bus technologies such as Kafka or AMPS.
• Experience developing open source or internal libraries integrated into applications.
• Experience working on high throughput, mission-critical platforms.
• Experience with multiple database technologies like Oracle, Cassandra, or in-memory databases.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience in a DevOps-focused environment and understanding of DevOps principles.
• Prior experience with Settlement, Clearing, or Post Trade Processing platforms.
• Experience in the financial industry.
