Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Technology department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and tools to support the deployment, monitoring, and operations of our services. You will collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and reliable software architectures, and ensure security and compliance requirements are met across all systems and services. This role provides an opportunity to improve system reliability through feedback and learning from incidents, and to streamline software delivery through the implementation and management of CI/CD pipelines.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and tools to support the deployment, monitoring, and operations of our services.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve system reliability and reduce manual intervention.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and reliable software architectures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
  • Ensure security and compliance requirements are met across all systems and services.
  • Continuously improve system reliability through feedback and learning from incidents.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience.
  • Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
  • Working experience with private and public cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in monitoring, alerting, and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • Proficiency in performance monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Dynatrace).
  • Proven experience in resiliency, scalability, and system availability aspects of platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with Micro-Service architecture applications using Java and Spring.
  • Technical knowledge of databases, Kafka, and REST paradigms.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, continuous build, and integration processes.
