Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Technology department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and tools to support the deployment, monitoring, and operations of our services. You will collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and reliable software architectures, and ensure security and compliance requirements are met across all systems and services. This role provides an opportunity to improve system reliability through feedback and learning from incidents, and to streamline software delivery through the implementation and management of CI/CD pipelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and tools to support the deployment, monitoring, and operations of our services.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve system reliability and reduce manual intervention.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and reliable software architectures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
  • Ensure security and compliance requirements are met across all systems and services.
  • Continuously improve system reliability through feedback and learning from incidents

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
  • Working experience on private and public cloud infrastructure
  • Proficiency in using monitoring and alerting and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • Proficiency in using performance monitoring tools (e.g. AppDynamics/Dynatrace)
  • Proven experience in resiliency , scalibility , system availablity aspects of the platform.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for troubleshooting issues and identifying root causes.
  • Working experience on Micro-Service architecture based application using Java and Spring
  • Technical knowledge of Database, kafka and REST paradigms
  • Good understanding of SDLC, continuous build and integration
