Genius Sports Group is hiring a Software Engineer II in London. You will contribute to building reliable, scalable software, work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into practical technical solutions, and help improve quality and maintainability of our systems.

You’ll design, build and test features, collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers, and participate in code reviews to raise standards.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software in a professional or comparable environment.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with modern development frameworks and tools.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals (data structures, APIs, testing, version control).
• Ability to work independently on defined tasks while seeking input when needed.
• Comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teammates and incorporating feedback.
• Problem‑solving skills and a willingness to learn and iterate.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain small to medium-sized systems or features with a focus on quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to understand requirements and turn them into practical technical solutions.
• Communicate progress, assumptions, blockers and trade-offs clearly.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and reviews.
• Write clear, maintainable and well-tested code following team standards.
• Work within established architecture patterns while identifying improvements to existing systems.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack, investigating root causes.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify opportunities to improve code quality, performance and team development practices.
• Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted tools, while reviewing results.
