About the role

Team you’ll be working in: Hold

The Hold team is part of the Global Product tribe. The team has a dual nature - one side we are a product team working end-to-end on customer-facing features, such as sharing accounts for multiple people, currency conversions, and adding money to accounts; on the other side, we own and evolve the main ledger of Wise Account, processing millions of transactions per day and powering products like Card spending and Direct Debits.

What will you be working on?

Mission-critical components of Wise Account, their scalability, and public APIs.

Product surfaces that customers interact with daily - currencies, money movements, etc.

Recently launched Group Spending product - our take on classical Joint Accounts.

What do you need?

A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, prioritizing customer needs and making data-driven decisions to address pain points.

Great communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Leadership skills to inspire and guide your engineering team to build the right things in the right way.

Ability to coordinate efforts across multiple teams, often involving cross-team collaboration.

Skill in breaking down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver value to customers.

Experience in developing web applications and distributed systems in a production environment.

Experience with relational databases, query optimization, and schema design is a plus.

Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and experience with messaging systems like Kafka is a plus.
