Saragossa, a growing hedge fund, is hiring the second technical hire to join the CTO. You will build data pipelines, shape in-house infrastructure, and work across development and data analysis with direct exposure to senior stakeholders.

You will own projects, bring ideas proactively, and help move legacy tech in-house as the firm expands in London. Python, SQL, APIs, and BI skills are central to the role.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and SQL required.
• Experience with APIs and integrations is essential.
• Ability to read and explain code clearly and work with technical teammates.
• Power BI experience is a plus; AI background is a bonus.

You get to build the tech function of a growing hedge fund from the ground up, working directly alongside the CTO.

This is a small hedge fund that spun out of an alternative investment firm, carrying a lot of legacy proprietary tech with it. Right now, the technical work sits with one person. That person is the CTO, and he now needs someone to work directly alongside him to bring everything in-house as the firm grows.

You are the second technical hire.

That means real ownership, real variety, and real exposure. You are building out data pipelines, supporting infrastructure decisions, working across development and data analysis, and sitting in regular contact with senior stakeholders across the fund. Nothing is siloed here. You work across the whole business and your fingerprints are on it.

The environment is collaborative and tight-knit. People lean on each other, learn from each other, and nobody is left to figure things out alone. That said, not everything is spelled out for you. You will need to bring your own ideas to the CTO proactively, spot what needs doing, and take ownership of it.

Python is your main language. You are comfortable with SQL, have worked with APIs and integrations, and you can read and explain code clearly. Power BI experience is useful and any background in AI is a bonus, but the curiosity and the initiative matter more than ticking every box.
