Put your love for smart tech to use
The Group Chief Operating Office is what makes us who we are. It’s one of the largest parts of Lloyds Banking Group, bringing together the technology, engineering and operations teams that keep the business moving. Our software engineers sit in platform teams across Group COO, with each platform aligned to a different part of the business. That means they work with teams across commercial markets, pensions, retail banking, mortgages, HR, Finance or Risk – building the services they need to do their best work. And as a Software Engineer graduate, your work will be anything but behind the scenes. You’ll help design, build and maintain the applications, platforms and digital services that millions of customers and colleagues rely on every day. From mobile banking and cloud infrastructure to AI-enabled solutions, you’ll use your smarts to decide what banking looks like tomorrow.
Throughout this two-year scheme, you’ll do everything a Junior Software Engineer does. And while you build out your technical expertise within a specific team from the outset, your impact will be felt throughout the business.
Work with experienced engineers, product teams, architects and tech specialists to build software that makes a real difference for customers and colleagues
You’ll get:
An understanding of modern engineering practices such as cloud development, automation and continuous testing.
A strong foundation in coding languages like Java, Python, TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, Rust and Golang would be advantageous in the application process.
This is a Software Engineer programme first. You may work with AI-enabled solutions, but if your real focus is artificial intelligence, machine learning or data science, our Data Science programme is likely the better route.
Note: We cannot sponsor visas.
You’ll select one of these regional locations and will be based in that office for the duration of your programme.
We support hybrid working, where you’ll be expected to spend a minimum of two days each week in the office where you have been placed.
Applications for our Software Engineer Graduate Scheme open on 10th September and close on the 29th November, except for the London location which closes on 11th October. Apply soon, as our schemes may close early if we receive a high number of applications.
