Job Description
BUSINESS UNIT: CF&O Shared Services (CFOSS) was created to centralize platforms, services, and expertise across CF&O divisions to improve efficiency and standardization.
The core priorities include:
- Establishing data quality, accountability, and lineage for positions.
- Developing unified data models for assessment platforms, ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management standards.
- Accelerating Cloud adoption and core engineering solutions.
- Supporting analytic calculations and data transformations.
- Enhancing workflow efficiencies through automation of financial metrics review and approval processes.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
This VP role requires a seasoned technology leader responsible for strategic direction, execution, and management of software engineering teams within the Finance & Risk Platforms division. The candidate will drive innovation, ensure high-quality application delivery, and promote technical excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership for multiple engineering teams, aligning technology with business goals.
- Manage, mentor, and develop engineering staff, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Implement best practices in software development, including Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery.
- Oversee design, development, and deployment of financial systems.
- Ensure applications are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Champion innovation and emerging technologies.
- Lead efforts to modernize legacy systems and reduce technical debt.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 7+ years in software development, with at least 3 in leadership.
- Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies and tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in fast-paced environments with a focus on delivery.
- Experience managing budgets and resources.
- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Programming experience in Java, Python, C#, or Go.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks like React.
- Knowledge of SQL databases and performance tuning.
- Experience with frameworks such as SpringBoot, DropWizard, Maven, RESTful services.
- Knowledge of ORM frameworks.
- Experience with ML/Data Science/AWS is advantageous.
- Experience with continuous deployment and large codebases.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Experience in financial services, especially risk management or regulatory reporting.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
