Job summary

Worldpay (UK) Limited in Manchester is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Alternative Payments team. You’ll contribute code to the BRO delivery, collaborate with the Development Manager and peers, and help ensure robust, maintainable systems that meet business needs.

You’ll apply your knowledge of the Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, Visual Studio), cloud technologies, and SQL, while embracing agile practices and a proactive, accountable mindset to drive improvements and high-quality software

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent in computing, math or science.
  • Proven software development experience.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, Visual Studio), cloud tooling and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code at an accepted level of quality.
  • Produce system requirements and estimates from business requirements.
  • Proactively identify and suggest improvements and enhancements to working practices to team level.
  • Participate in the operation of the services owned by the team by providing out of hours support one out of five weeks.
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineering.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and change.
