Job summary

Onyx-Conseil in Stevenage is seeking a Software Engineer to take ownership of high-performance backend systems built with C/C++. The role blends architectural input with hands-on development in a fast-paced R&D environment.

You'll work in a hybrid setup (2 days in office) across Linux, multithreaded networking, and collaboration with product teams. Mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical direction are key aspects of the role.

Are you an experienced C/C++ Software Engineer looking to take full ownership of high-performance systems while working on cutting-edge network technology in a fast-paced and innovative environment?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing R&D team developing advanced network emulation products used to test performance and reliability. You will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, turning complex technical requirements into scalable, high-quality solutions.

In this role, you will take ownership of backend development, contributing to architecture decisions and ensuring systems remain performant and maintainable as they evolve. You will work closely with product stakeholders and play a key role in delivering new features from concept through to deployment.
