Job summary

Amazon Development Centre (London) Limited is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build automated platforms that onboard threat detection, remediate security risk, and accelerate security response across AWS accounts. You will work with AWS services, Python, and TypeScript, focusing on robust software with strong operational health.

You will own features, drive reliability, and participate in on-call rotations, with opportunities to mentor teammates and influence partner teams

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development.
• Experience with object-oriented design in modern languages.
• Comfort with on-call rotations and responding to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver features for AWS Security Epoxy services to meet business goals.
• Own operational excellence: instrument systems, set alerts, automate toil reduction.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code with documentation and runbooks for maintainability.
• Participate in on-call rotations, triage high-severity issues, implement permanent fixes.
• Improve resiliency, scalability, and safety of high-scale systems.
• Engage in code/design/operational readiness reviews and post-incident analyses.
• Mentor new teammates and influence partner teams on engineering practices.
