Role Summary

The Football Department at Leeds United is working to leverage data to enhance decision making from analysis and recruitment to performance and medicine. We are looking for individuals who will transform our end users' workflows and decision-making processes through a central football platform.

Role Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the Football Data Platform Lead to design and build a new, scalable football intelligence platform.
2. Develop and maintain robust backend services (Python, Node, AWS) and elegant, user-friendly frontend applications (React, TypeScript).
3. Establish good development practices and contribute to the long-term maintainability of the platform.

Other Responsibilities

Take responsibility for personal performance and skills development to ensure the required competencies for the role. Perform duties in accordance with Club policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. Act as an ambassador for equity and inclusion, championing the Club’s commitment and action plan. Recognize and challenge incidents of racism, bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, victimization, or abuse of equal opportunities, ensuring policy compliance. Implement the Club’s health & safety, safeguarding, welfare, and equality policies to create a safe working environment. Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) training as needed. Required Technical Skills

Essential

• High proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS Lambda, S3, EC2, API Gateway, Airflow, Redshift).
• Willingness to learn Python for backend services and data workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation).
