Location: We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel to either our Winchester or London office once or twice a week.

Overview:

Contributes significantly to coding, testing, and maintaining software systems, with a focus on technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving. This is a professional role for individuals with significant experience in software engineering.

Accountabilities:

• Contributes actively to the development and delivery of software features and bug fixes.
• Ensures code quality by writing and executing comprehensive tests.
• May lead the development work within a smaller project or cross-functional product team.
• Coaches and mentors more junior members of the team (including Graduate and Intern engineers).
• Writes clean, scalable, and testable code.
• Participates in code reviews to learn best practices and coding standards.
• Participates in the technical testing of code.
• Contributes to the development of features or bug fixes.
• Stays up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software engineering to continuously improve personal skills and the quality of products.

Skills:

• Demonstrates strong software development skills with an ability to write efficient, clean, and maintainable code.
• Possesses effective collaboration skills and the ability to work within a team to solve complex problems.
• Exhibits strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting and debugging.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages and development tools relevant to Arqiva’s technology stack.
• Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in the industry.
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and logical skills to troubleshoot and solve complex software problems.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, necessary for effective teamwork, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Knowledge & Experience:

• A few years of experience in a software development role with a proven track record of delivering quality software solutions.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and building products and platforms.

Qualifications:

• Science/Computer Science degree or relevant industry experience.
