Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Aircraft Sustainment & Training team at the RAAF Base in Williamtown, reporting to the Senior Software Developer.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

You will be responsible for complete own engineering activities in accordance with the relevant project procedures, work instructions, and applicable regulatory requirements. You may also provide leadership to a small team and/or mentoring to other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work effectively as part of a software engineering team and provide technical leadership to junior members.
2. Interface with other project teams to ensure their needs are considered.
3. Perform software engineering tasks following project plans and identify improvement opportunities.
4. Contribute to the enhancement of company processes and procedures.

Desirable Experience:

• Web page development and Oracle database experience.
• Experience with Microsoft-centric projects and coding in C#.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Qualifications & Security Clearances:

• Defense security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance.
• Eligibility for International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance.
