Job summary

A dynamic engineering company in Portsmouth is seeking a Software Engineer for a 12-month contract in the space sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in C++ and knowledge in Windows applications, preferably with MFC and C#. Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in C++ programming.

  • Experience in real-time control coding using ADA is desirable.

Carbon60 is currently looking for a Software Engineer to join their client based in Portsmouth in their Space sector. This is a contract role lasting 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to software design and implementation activities through all stages of the project development life cycle.

  • Assisting with defining or amending requirements in compliance with quality criteria
  • Determining interface requirements
  • Implementing design documents and software changes, including new and expanded functionality
  • Developing software to appropriate coding standards
  • Ensuring software meets requirements using appropriate test/inspection methods
  • Utilising agile development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Enterprise Architect, and Git
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in C++ programming
  • Knowledge of working with Windows applications, preferably with experience in MFC and C#
  • Desirable: Experience in real-time control coding using ADA
