Responsibilities include analyzing user needs, designing or customizing software for client use to optimize operational efficiency, and working with databases within application areas. The role also entails modifying existing software to correct errors or improve performance, analyzing software requirements for feasibility, and collaborating with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and gather project information.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Working under supervision.
2. Making moderate-impact decisions, with errors potentially affecting projects or customer relationships, requiring involvement beyond the immediate work group for corrections.
3. Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information, with basic negotiation and diplomacy skills.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least 2 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, with a focus on code optimization and embedded systems background.

Desired skills include Linux, Unix, and embedded systems knowledge. The position requires 4 days in the office in Belfast (BT3 9DT). The interview process includes a 1 hour 30 minute technical round, coding reviews, and HR round.
