Software Engineer I

Your Impact

You'll develop software that integrates our de-escalation tools, body-worn cameras, drones, evidence management, and cloud services. This role involves delivering features like device registration, inventory management, configuration, evidence sync, and AI capabilities, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, staff engineers, and engineering managers.

You will contribute to design reviews, provide feedback, work on complex features, estimate, develop, and test backend APIs and user-facing components such as Evidence Sync, and troubleshoot complex integration issues.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure software following best practices.
  • Lead design discussions, contribute to specifications, and participate in code reviews.
  • Track feature delivery, communicate status and risks.
  • Participate in release management.
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to the engineering community at Axon.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems, programming languages like Java, Scala, Go, C++, frontend technologies like React, SQL/NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills.
  • Experience working remotely, documenting, and process improvement.
  • Passion for protecting life and public safety through technology.
