Job summary

Raytheon UK invites applications for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Manchester or Gloucester teams. You will design and build software across cross-functional programs, delivering and deploying critical systems in a secure environment.

You will work in a DevSecOps focused area with AI/ML, cyber and geospatial capabilities, and you may need to obtain an eDV clearance as part of the role. Collaboration with stakeholders and peers is essential, along with a strong agile mindset.

Qualifications

• Advanced software engineering principles and delivery experience.
• Strong experience across React/NextJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Proficient in Python and Java for backend services.
• Experience building REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications.
• Cloud service experience (AWS or Azure) and infrastructure as code.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• PostgreSQL and search technologies like Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Familiar with testing frameworks (Mocha/Jest/Cypress) and CI/CD using GitLab.
• Agile delivery in cross-functional teams; collaboration and code reviews.

Raytheon UK have a full time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on our Manchester or Gloucester sites.

You’ll be part of our experienced software dev function, working in a cross-functional team, delivering and deploying critical software across a variety of business areas.

Due to the interesting work we do and the sector this team is working in, we require all candidates to be willing to attain an eDV clearance.

In this area of the business we prove DevSecOps at scale, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, cyber and geospatial intelligence capabilities to support the defence, intelligence and cyber sectors. Collaborating with customers and suppliers to deliver secure, mission critical systems using the latest technologies and innovations.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
