Job summary

Wipro is looking for a Software Engineer to work within a collaborative engineering team delivering reliable software solutions across Apple platforms and supporting services. As a Software Engineer, you will design, implement, and operate software systems that remain correct, maintainable, secure, and resilient under production demand and ongoing change.

You will work with engineering, product, architecture, and delivery teams to transform complex requirements into scalable technical solutions

Qualifications

• Expert proficiency in Swift and Apple platform frameworks.
• Experience with Objective-C, Python, and shell scripting.
• Experience designing secure, versioned APIs with backward compatibility.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience unit/integration/UI testing (XCTest or Swift Testing).

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering software features from technical approach and API definition through to production monitoring.
• Translating ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and identifying delivery, security, and performance risks early.
• Producing well-tested, documented, maintainable, and resilient code.
• Championing engineering standards through constructive code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Retaining operational ownership after release, including debugging, instrumentation, optimisation, and security improvements.

Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and delivering software features from technical approach and API definition through to production monitoring.
• Translating ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and identifying delivery, security, and performance risks early.
• Producing well-tested, documented, maintainable, and resilient code.
• Championing engineering standards through constructive code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Retaining operational ownership after release, including debugging, instrumentation, optimisation, and security improvements.

Mandatory Skills

You will have:

• Expert proficiency in Swift, Apple platform frameworks, and the Xcode development and profiling toolchain.
• Working knowledge of Objective-C, Python, and shell scripting for interoperability, automation, tooling, and CI/CD workflows.
• Practical experience designing and consuming secure, versioned APIs with effective error handling and backward compatibility.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, data modelling, caching, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and containerisation.
• A disciplined approach to unit, integration, and UI testing using XCTest, Swift Testing, or comparable frameworks.

Ideally, you will be familiar with:

• SwiftUI, UIKit or AppKit, Swift Concurrency, and Combine.
• Automated build, test, deployment, and release pipelines.
• On-device inference using Core ML or relevant Apple intelligence frameworks.
• Model APIs or LLM-enabled features, including latency, privacy, and cost considerations.
• Working within established architecture, security, review, and release processes.
