Oho Group in Central London is seeking a Founding Software Engineer to join a cyber security startup building cloud-native security solutions. You’ll own critical components, shape architecture and work across product, engineering and customers in a fast-moving environment.
You’ll work with exceptional engineers, have ownership from day one, and access meaningful equity plus visa sponsorship where required. This early-stage opportunity emphasizes real impact and rapid iteration.
Central London | Series A | Competitive Salary + Equity
We're building a cyber security company tackling a problem that becomes more important every time another company moves its infrastructure into the cloud.
Our technology helps security teams detect attackers inside their cloud environments using deception and intelligent tripwires — giving teams a way to identify intrusions quickly and accurately.
We're at an exciting point in the journey.
We've grown rapidly, are working with some seriously impressive technology companies and have recently secured significant Series A backing from leading investors.
Now we're building out the engineering team and looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join us.
You’ll work on genuinely difficult problems
If you enjoy understanding how things work under the hood, this is the kind of environment you’ll thrive in.
We’re dealing with problems across cyber security, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems and software engineering.
The challenges aren’t neatly packaged into individual tickets. You’ll often need to understand a problem from first principles, work out the best way to solve it and then build the solution yourself.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across different parts of the product rather than being confined to one small area of the stack.
We’re much more interested in whether you’re a genuinely excellent engineer than whether you’ve spent the last few years using a particular language.
If you’re strong in Python, Go, Rust, Java, C++, C#, TypeScript or something else entirely, we’d like to speak to you.
You’ll be surrounded by exceptional engineers
We’re deliberately keeping the engineering team small and highly technical.
You’ll work alongside people who have built and scaled serious technology businesses before, as well as engineers who have chosen to join because they want to work on difficult problems with people who are genuinely good at what they do.
You’ll have direct access to senior technical people, very little bureaucracy and plenty of opportunity to learn.
We think the fastest way to become a great engineer is to work alongside great engineers.
That one of the biggest things we’re offering here.
You’ll join a company that’s already showing serious traction
This isn’t an idea looking for its first customers.
We’ve already built a product that sophisticated security teams want to use, grown rapidly and secured significant backing to accelerate the next stage of the business.
We’re now at the point where the engineering team is growing and the problems we’re tackling are becoming increasingly ambitious.
You’ll actually build things!
We’re a small team and we move quickly.
You’ll have a lot of ownership over what you work on, with engineers trusted to figure out the best way to solve problems rather than being handed prescriptive tasks.
You’ll work closely with product, engineering and customers, ship frequently and see your work being used in the real world.
We also actively embrace AI-assisted development. We’re interested in engineers who are experimenting with tools like Claude, Codex and other AI coding assistants and thinking about how they can make themselves more effective.
We’re looking for exceptionally strong software engineers, rather than someone who simply matches a particular technology checklist.
You’ll ideally have:
If you’re an exceptional engineer who happens to come from a different technical background, we’d still like to hear from you.
We’re based in Central London and work together in the office five days a week.
That’s intentional. We’re a small team, we move quickly and we believe being around the people you’re working with makes a huge difference at this stage of a company.
We’re looking for people who are curious, ambitious and obsessed with building good software.
If you want to work with an exceptional engineering team, solve problems that aren’t straightforward and join a business that’s already showing serious momentum, this is a great time to get involved.
