A growing, well-established organisation in Greater Lincolnshire is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance existing platforms and deliver new functionality. You will develop PHP applications using Symfony or Laravel and work on integration projects with APIs and ERP systems. I'm working with a growing, well-established organisation that is currently looking for a Software Engineer to join their internal development team. If you're passionate about building clean, reliable software that integrates with real-world systems and processes, this could be a great fit.
You'll play a key part in enhancing existing platforms, delivering new functionality, and supporting integration projects with third-party services and ERP systems. This is a hybrid role, with just 1-2 days per month required on-site, and offers a lot of technical ownership in a stable and supportive environment.
The Role - What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and maintain internal PHP-based web applications using Symfony and/or Laravel
Work on integration projects involving APIs and legacy ERP systems (Navision)
Contribute to both back-end and occasional front-end development (Bootstrap, Angular, WordPress)
Collaborate with stakeholders to scope, design, and deliver new features
Support the deployment and optimisation of applications on both Linux (Ubuntu, Apache, Nginx) and Windows (IIS) servers
Ensure best practices around security, performance, and code quality
Work alongside a small IT/dev team with opportunities to contribute to architecture decisions
What You'll Need:
Strong experience with PHP, ideally using Symfony or Laravel
Solid understanding of modern web development and application architecture
Familiarity with integrating APIs and working with third-party platforms
Some exposure to SQL Server or relational databases (basic query writing & troubleshooting)
Experience with Git and version control workflows
Comfortable deploying to or managing applications on Linux and/or Windows servers
Awareness of web security best practices (e.g., SSL, OWASP)
Experience working with ERP systems (Navision a bonus)
WordPress development or customisation experience
Front-end development with Bootstrap and Angular
Exposure to Docker, CI/CD tools, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
