I'm working with a highly regarded technology consultancy delivering advanced software solutions into the UK defence and national security sectors. As they continue to grow their footprint in this space, they're looking to add an experienced Software Engineer to their team.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle while contributing to mission-critical projects in secure environments. You'll be supporting both internal greenfield projects and defence-focused client work, with a clear emphasis on innovation, quality, and impact.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and deploy bespoke greenfield software solutions.

Provide software consultancy and hands-on development across:

Backend/frontend coding

Unit, integration, and system testing

CI/CD workflows and deployment automation

Diagnostic tooling and support

Requirements:

Strong experience with at least one of the following:

Active SC or DV clearance

If SC-cleared, you must be eligible and willing to undergo DV clearance

Strong understanding of software development lifecycles

Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills

Comfortable working in highly regulated, secure environments

Defence, national security, or government sector experience

Frontend/UI experience (e.g., React)

DevOps: Jenkins, Git/GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Jira, Puppet

Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Familiarity with AWS CDK, NiFi
