easyJet Airline Company PLC is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer in Luton, offering hybrid working with 60% office time. You’ll join an agile squad building and operating scalable software that supports Europe’s leading airline.

The role covers full SDLC from design to deployment and ongoing support, with opportunities to explore AI-assisted tooling. The successful candidate will have strong .NET/Java experience, AWS cloud skills, and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-quality software

Qualifications

• Commercial software engineering experience in a modern tech environment.
• Strong experience with .NET and/or Java.

The opportunity

As a Software Engineer, you'll help build, deliver and operate technology solutions that support one of Europe's leading airlines. Working within an agile engineering squad, you'll collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Managers and fellow engineers to turn business priorities into reliable, scalable software solutions.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment and operational support. You'll take ownership of well‑defined technical challenges, contribute to technical discussions and continue developing your engineering expertise with support from experienced colleagues.

You'll join one of our Engineering squads, working alongside software engineers, product specialists and technology leaders to deliver products and services used by customers and colleagues across easyJet.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build, test, deploy and support production software.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable and well‑tested code.
• Build and support applications using AWS, .NET and Java technologies.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and implementation activities.
• Investigate defects, troubleshoot issues and support production systems.
• Improve software quality through code reviews, testing, observability and reliability practices.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering colleagues to deliver valuable solutions.
• Contribute to engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing and release management.
• Use AI‑assisted engineering tools thoughtfully to improve development effectiveness and software quality.

What we’re looking for

• Commercial software engineering experience within a modern technology environment.
• Strong experience developing applications using .NET and/or Java.
• Experience building and supporting cloud‑native applications on AWS.
• Experience working with APIs, distributed systems and modern software architectures.
• Confidence working with shared codebases, automated testing and code review processes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control and cloud‑based development workflows.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and approaches.
• Interest in AI‑assisted engineering tools and emerging software development practices.

Desirable experience includes working within regulated or operationally complex environments, particularly airlines, airports or other high-availability industries, as well as experience with Kubernetes, Docker and AWS serverless technologies.
